Actor Kevin Costner rents his 160-acre Aspen estate in Colorado for a whopping $36,000 a night.
Known as the Dunbar Ranch, named in honor of his Dances With Wolves character, Lieutenant John Dunbar, the property is described as ‘the ultimate luxury retreat’ and is located just minutes from downtown Aspen.
The mansion has 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms with views of Independence Pass and Aspen Mountain. If there are problems, caretakers are also on site around the clock.

Outside the place has a baseball field, a sledding hill, and the ability to comfortably sleep up to 27 people spread over three buildings consisting of a main house, a lake house and a river house.
For the winter months, the ranch has a private ice rink, tubing rink, and dog sledding, while horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and other activities are possible in the warmer months.
The estate also includes a lake where kayaks and paddleboards can be sailed.
While the nightly price tag of $36,000 sounds like a lot, it would be similar to reserving several rooms at a local five-star hotel in Aspen, if divided among a full house load of guests.

Costner, 68, bought the land in 2000 before transforming it into a picturesque paradise.
He currently plays ranch owner John Dutton in the acclaimed anti-woke Western series, Yellowstone. It saw Costner pick up a Golden Globe Award earlier this month.
The win marked the first ever Golden Globe nomination for the show – which has been described as ‘anti-woke’ – after multiple snubs. The popular series, which first aired in 2018, has aired 47 episodes over five seasons.
During that time, it has also received one Emmy nomination (in 2021, for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program); and received his first two nominations for Critics Choice Awards this year (for Best Drama Series; and for Kelly Reilly for Best Actress in a Drama Series).
Although he still uses Dunbar Ranch often, the filming schedule for Yellowstone means he spends a large chunk of his time at other people’s ranches in Montana, although he typically rents out his Aspen home during the winter months.
The property was put up for lease last week, and is listed by Amy Mottier with Coldwell Banker Mason Morse.
