MikeWorldWide (MWW), an independent independent PR agency based in East Rutherford, has acquired MRB Public Relations, Inc., a boutique technology-focused public relations firm recognized as one of the world’s top channel-focused PR firms for research and consulting. Forrester Research, Inc.
MRB founder Michael Becche and Chief Associate Angela Tuzzo, a 17-year MRB veteran, will join MWW’s global technology practice, led by Maria Brown, along with support staff. The practice grew by 174% in 2022, with clients in SaaS, B2B, enterprise, cloud security, fintech, venture-backed startups, media platforms and consumer technology.
“MRB’s deep technology industry expertise – leveraging expert relationships and media research techniques – will help us better communicate our value proposition to our client partners in today’s changing media landscape,” said Michael Kempner, MWW Founder and CEO. “As our practice continues to grow rapidly, Michael’s relationships in the technology media community will be invaluable to our clients and team members.”
MRB Public Relations was founded in 1992 as a media research firm assisting leading businesses with broadcast and technology trade media. With a focus on IT and cybersecurity, MRB has led clients on numerous profitable acquisitions and secured over $2 billion in financing.
“MRB has had great success growing our clients into larger enterprises, and after a large funding round or acquisition, it’s not uncommon for those clients to want larger agencies than we can offer,” said MRB CEO Michael Becche. “Now, these clients can continue to leverage our media relations capabilities, but expand into other areas such as digital, search, influencer marketing, and leverage innovative AI, reporting and analytics tools to scale their campaigns.”
“MRB has done a good job of building Fortra’s reach by making us part of key cybersecurity conversations,” added Michael Devine, chief marketing officer at Fortra, a long-time MRB customer and provider of cybersecurity software and services. “This move allows us to leverage MWW’s global PR network, while still maintaining the excellent small firm service you’ve come to expect from MRB.”
